ABOUT ME

Here, I share my architectural journey as well as the side projects and interests that shape my practice.

My name is Poyraz Esrefoglu, and I am an architect currently based in Italy. My architectural path has taken me across Turkey, Italy, and Sweden, shaping an international academic and professional background.

I graduated as Valedictorian from Çankaya University in Turkey, where I also completed coursework in city and regional planning. During my studies, I completed three internships; two on construction sites and one in an architecture office. After graduation, I worked as an architect at Couture Architecture and Infinia Architects, gaining experience in both design and implementation processes.

I moved to Italy to continue my education with a Master’s in Sustainable Architecture at Politecnico di Milano. To further expand my knowledge and customize my academic path around the areas I am most interested in, I later spent one year at Chalmers University of Technology in Sweden.

My main interests are sustainable architecture, building envelope performance, and biophilic design, particularly within workplace and healthcare environments. I approach architecture through a human-centered and environmentally responsible lens, with a focus on well-being and the quality of internal environments.

In addition to my academic work, I am developing Archiware, a software focused on enhancing preliminary design workflows in architecture.

Currently, I am working on my master’s thesis in healthcare architecture and workspace well-being and seeking professional experience in Europe as part of my early-career development.
